III Estonian-Latvian History Conference: Hidden and Open Cultural Heritage in Valga/Valka and Nearby

Background of the Conference

The 2017 conference addressed the public and hidden cultural heritage of the area. Initially, the focus was on local cemeteries and related burial practices. The next topic covered former structures and lost views. Students from Lüllemäe introduced their research on forest brothers. The discussion then moved on to the old wooden architecture of Valga and types of buildings. Finally, the topic of the Latvian-Valka Lugaži square along with the church was addressed.
