Silver collection

Here, visitors can see a 1920s–1930s writing desk with documents from former Valga banks, a telephone, a desk lamp, and the Valga city cashbox, which dates back to the early 20th century. The walls display photographs from the museum's collections of Valga bank buildings and interiors, as well as banking figures.

Next to the safe is a showcase with numismatics and treasure finds. The treasure found near Vasila farm in Kuigatsi in 1974 contains 894 coins, including 30 Spanish reales from the late 16th century and other silver coins, as well as large silver rings and beads, a brooch, rings and silver pendants, along with large amber and chalcedony beads, some of which are on display. Another showcase features items from the museum’s silver collection, including badges, cigarette cases and pocket watches, jewelry, and table silverware.
