Out of the works of almost one hundred students from Valga Gymnasium, the winners were Ruuta Vallimäe (card no. 7) in category A and Poliina Kukk (cards no. 11 and 13) in category B. Participation in category A meant writing a short essay based on only one Art Nouveau style postcard, while participants in category B wrote an essay based on several cards.

Valga Museum is pleased to present both talented writers with prizes: a museum card, which grants free access for a year to over 130 museums and exhibitions in Estonia. The award ceremony will take place on May 6 at 16:00 at Valga Museum, but already on April 29 the young authors will introduce their work on the radio show Valgalase pooltund (Half-an-hour with citizen of Valga) on Ruut FM.

The competition actually continues until the end of this year and will also take place next year, in 2027, but then we will use paintings from the Art Museum of Estonia as inspiration. More detailed information: neeme@valgamuuseum.ee

Thank you to the author of the competition idea, Claude Lejeune, Riga Art Nouveau Museum, Valga Gymnasium, SA Muuseumikaart, and LC Valga Säde.
