Mushroom Programmes
It may come as a real surprise how many different species of edible mushrooms actually grow in our forests. What exciting and lesser-known edible mushrooms could further enrich our table? On our usual mushroom picking trips, we walk past many mushrooms that we consider to be of little value and do not bother to pick them.
Mycologists Irma Zettur and Veiko Kastanje will talk about wild mushrooms growing in Estonia, their picking and use, and will introduce various facts and myths related to mushrooms from here and elsewhere.
On September 23, exhibition programs at 9:00, 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, and 16:00. Pre-registration for groups: margit@valgamuuseum.ee or by phone at 7668863. Registration is not required for the evening program.
Participation is free.
The exhibition and programs are supported by the State Forest Management Centre.
